We started Astrato with a clear belief: business intelligence should be live, flexible, truly self-service, and built for how modern teams actually work.
But that’s not what we saw in most tools.
Teams were stuck writing Set Analysis or DAX in legacy BI platforms. Dashboards were static, read-only, and ugly. Workflows were fragmented. And the people who needed data most were left waiting. But they knew what good looks like – and so did we.
After seven years building Vizlib, where we delivered beautiful, powerful analytics to 1,200+ Qlik customers, we started wondering: what if BI had evolved with the cloud? So we set out to build the next generation of BI – or what those tools could have become if they’d been designed today.
Today, we’re thrilled to share that we’ve raised a $5 million seed round, led by Big Pi Ventures, with participation from Propelling Tech Ventures and over 30 prominent angel investors from the data and analytics community.
This funding helps us move faster – and stay focused on what matters: helping teams explore, understand, act on, and collaborate around data in real time.

Why we exist
Modern companies are moving their data to the cloud – into platforms like Snowflake, BigQuery and Databricks that offer speed, scalability, and control. GenAI is adding a new layer of possibilities.
But most BI tools weren’t built for this new reality. They take data out of the cloud and into their own cloud, or worse, on-premise. Slow, clunky, retrofitted – like forecasting an economic slowdown with an abacus.
They were designed for a different era from 15 years ago – one where data was exported out of slow & inaccessible data warehouses hosted in server rooms, into dashboards, updated on a schedule, and locked away behind technical gatekeepers.

We built Astrato to close that gap.
