PetScreening has been on a mission to become a data-driven company using the latest technologies like Snowflake to improve user understanding, operational efficiency and identify non-compliant customers. Snowflake enabled PetScreening to integrate financial, sales/marketing and third-party data with its web application data for a more comprehensive view and deeper insights.

Lack of customer facing analytics and time-consuming manual reports stifled growth

PetScreening’s existing BI technology was unable to meet significant demand from PetScreening’s thousands of customers for real-time, self-service external reporting. Managing the manual process of sharing reports was very time consuming, if not unsustainable, for an account team in a start-up environment.

PetScreening’s customers were dissatisfied, as they wanted immediate access to insights and the ability to obtain ad-hoc reports without waiting for account managers. The specialized skills needed for new or custom reports made their existing dashboarding tool unsuitable for most of PetScreening’s customers. Moreover, the cost of providing dashboards to customers was also prohibitive.

The lack of self-service reporting was not only affecting existing customer satisfaction but also hindering growth and the ability to attract larger customers.

“Our customers and prospects expected real-time, self-service reporting and insights, while our account teams were overwhelmed trying to support customer requests for reports. Establishing a data and analytics team at PetScreening was crucial to provide this end-user reporting, which was critical to our business’ success, and so finding a solution was my top priority.”

PetScreening needed a new solution that met both its technical and business requirements and found Astrato, a modern business intelligence solution that leverages all the benefits of Snowflake and cloud.

Astrato’s no-code and cloud native live query design allows non-technical users to easily slice and dice reports and get instant access to the underlying granular data without waiting for the central BI team to create a new report or run extracts.

“Astrato has the ability to click on something in a dashboard, it'll pop up and show you the data behind that number so a customer can filter through and look at it without knowing SQL. This was definitely a huge feature for us. Also, it’s just a right click for a customer or account manager to export a report, which saves us so much time.”
